Masi Oka will reprise his role as Hiro Nakamura in a guest-starring arc for the upcoming Heroes Reborn of NBC this fall.
According to Deadline, "I'm excited to return to my Heroes roots," said Oka. "Hiro Nakamura was such an inspirational role to play, and I'm hoping the fans will enjoy seeing him back on TV."
Tim Kring, the creator/executive producer of Heroes and Heroes Reborn said that, "The character of Hiro Nakamura was such a huge part of the first series' success, and a gigantic fan favorite. We felt the fans would really love seeing him back in action again."
On Heroes Reborn, Oka joins fellow Heroes alum Jack Coleman, who is reprising role as Noah Bennet. Coleman is a lead in the event series alongside new addition Zachary Levi.
Oka, who got his big break on Heroes, currently co-stars as the eccentric Coroner on CBS' Hawaii Five-0. He has also recurred on NBC's Scrubs and Fox's Luis. Oka is repped by UTA and Luber Roklin Entertainment. Here is Hiro tribute fan video.
Heroes Reborn is an upcoming 13-episode miniseries. Tim Kring, creator of Heroes, returns as the executive producer. During the 2015 Super Bowl, NBC aired a 16-second promo for the series.
According to the official synopsis, the miniseries would "reconnect with the basic elements of the show's first season" in which ordinary people discovered that they had special abilities. The show will be preceded by a new digital series that introduces the new characters and storylines around which Heroes Reborn is centered.
