According to game developer Bungie, "The House of Wolves," the second major downloadable content expansion pack for the online first-person shooter video game Destiny will launch sometime in the second quarter of 2015, sometime within the April-June time-frame. However, before that, Destiny players are advised to avail themselves of Patch 1.1.2, which makes a few tweaks to the game, including increasing players' in-game vault space.
Patch 1.1.2 will increase the vault dimensions for armors and item to 24 slots and for weapons to 36 slots. Prior to this, all vault item spaces were capped at 20 slots each. The expansion of the vault was limited by "memory constraints on older generation hardware," which required a compromise to expand storage space. For Destiny players on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the item comparison feature will no longer function in the vault, but Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users will not be affected. PlayStation 4 users will be getting the 2.50Yukimura update today which introduces a Suspend and Resume function. But these new Suspend and Resume feature will not immediately work until Patch 1.1.2 is installed.
Patch 1.1.2 will also introduce new audio options, various game fixes, and a new feature that is meant to aid Destiny players who are colorblind. According to Bungie, Patch 1.1.2 will be out in April, before the release of the "House of Wolves" DLC.
"The House of Wolves" DLC expansion pack, as rumored, will contain a new Awoken storyline plus an exclusive Raid, 3 new Crucible maps and a new Fallen Strike, plus hundreds of new weapons, amour and gear. However, Bungie won't go into the specifics yet of the next planned DLC release. Said the developer: "We're keeping all other details under wraps for now. There is a special team here that's dedicated to creating some new ways for you to play Destiny. They're also making the game you know a better reflection of what we've learned about you since you've started playing." Still, the company teased that something Destiny-related is coming this fall following the release of "The House of Wolves."
"The House of Wolves" follows Destiny's first DLC expansion pack, "The Dark Below," which launched on December 9, 2014. These planned add-ons are covered in the game's $35 Expansion Pass.
