At the CeBIT tech conference held in Germany, BlackBerry revealed its new SecuTABLET. Blackberry claims that this tablet has the ultimate security available for tablets.

Blackberry joined forces with Samsung and IBM to bring out the new device that is said to protect sensitive info securely. The Secutablet combines the hardware and software capabilities of the three companies presenting it in the form of Samsung Galaxy tab 10.5. It contains Secusmart micro SD card along with IBM software that wraps up confidential information in a 'virtual container'. Malicious software or malwares cannot reach this secured container.

The device has not been graded by the German Federal Office for Information Security yet. So the device is yet to be classified, standardized and approved However, Bloomberg reports that it is hoped the device will become available in the coming year. BlackBerry hopes to ship nearly 10,000 units per year. The tablet would target government and businesses looking for secure solutions with a bigger screen.

Blackberry has offered security at all levels and the technology used in SecuTablet is from the same source, Secusmart Security. The Secusmart security system has been introduced in tablets for the first time. From the looks of it, the system seems quite dependable. With such a security system, users can run personal apps without fearing for their business files.

Secusmart was purchased by BlackBerry in the latter half of 2014 and has since supplied BlackBerry phones with its security technology.

Earlier, Blackberry's take on tablets, Playbook, was a failure and registered very low sales. This resulted in the withdrawal of the product from the market. However there are rumors that it may release a PlayBook 2 for regular customers.
