Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber endured hours of verbal torture from such sadistic roasters as Kevin Hart, Martha Stewart, Snoop Dog, Ludacris, Jeff Ross, Shaquille O'Neal, among others, during Friday's taping for the Comedy Central Roast special episode that will be airing March 30 on the premium cable network. He survived intact, apparently a changed and better person.
The roasters pelted Bieber with everything they had including the proverbial kitchen sink. They lashed at him for his bad behavior, his problematic relationship with Selena Gomez, his music and his appearance. Jeffrey Ross for instance, told him: "The name Bieber has become so offensive, the Washington Redskins think you should change it." Chris D'Elia, for another noted: "You have it all, except love, friends, good parents and a Grammy." Snoop Dogg told him his next album should be called "Straight Outta Talent."
Martha Stewart, 73, who was famously incarcerated back in 2004, saying she was speaking from experience, gave Bieber some tips for his eventual inevitable turn to go to prison. Said she: "I've been in lock up. Justin, you would not last a week. So pay attention. Justin, you have no idea what you're in for. I'm sure it's great to have 60 million followers on Twitter. But the only place people will be following you in prison will be into the shower. You have an owl [tattoo] on your arm and the word 'patience' on your neck. I would suggest the words 'White power' so you don't look like some 14-year-old girl's Trapper Keeper."
Bieber did manage to throw in an insult or two of his own against his verbal abusers. For instance, he told them: "What happens when you give a teenager $200 million?" You get a bunch of has-beens calling you a lesbian for two hours." He also addressed the 5' 4" host, telling him "a big screen for Kevin Hart is an iPad mini." But he ended his roasting with a fitting closing message to the audience. He said: "There was no preparing me for this life. I got thrown into this, 12 years old. There are moments I'm proud of and things I've done that don't define who I am. I look forward to being someone you're proud of. ... I'm excited to see what's next. You have my word - I will not end up broken, pathetic, bitter or sitting on someone else's roast. I'm at a moment of change. This is a new day."
Following the taping, Bieber told the waiting reporters: "I'm going to Vegas ... on my jet, bitch!" He did. He went to the OMNIA Nightclub inside Caesars Palace with some friends that include Kris Jenner, Katharine McPhee, Miguel, Ashley Benson and his manager Scooter Braun to celebrate his 21st birthday, which was actually weeks ago on March 1.
