Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek has more questions - and answers - in his future.
Although he's dropped hints in recent years about retiring, the Jeopardy! host just renewed his contract through the 2017-18 season.
The 74-year-old Trebek joins fellow Sony Pictures Television game show hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White, who holds down the fort at Wheel of Fortune.
"The enduring success of 'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Jeopardy!' serves as a testament to the talents of these remarkable hosts," the executive producer of both series, Harry Friedman, said in a statement. "The renewal of their contracts continues the special bond that Pat, Vanna and Alex have formed with generations of TV viewers," according to a report by Maane Khatchatourian of Variety.
The Canadian-born host was awarded last year with a Guinness World Record for "most gameshow episodes hosted by the same presenter." As of the awarding, he's hosted a whopping 6,829 episodes.
Trebek began hosting in 1984 and has since asked more than 400,000 questions on the show. He's actually the second host ofJeopardy! Art Fleming hosted in its original run from 1964-1979. Trebek took over when it re-launched in the '80s.
During the awarding, Trebek said he will continue hosting the show for a few more years.
The game show veteran reportedly made $10 million a year with his last contract.
Now in its 31st season, Jeopardy! averages 10.7 million viewers, while Wheel of Fortune reels in 11.4 million viewers in its current 32nd season.
