Sex Box, a reality television program adapted from the UK original on Channel 4, is premiering tonight in the USA on WeTV. Over the span of the show's one hour time slot, two therapists and a pastor will provide real couples relationship advice before and after they have actual sex in a box on a stage right before a live studio audience.

According to WeTV president Marc Juris, Sex Box is "one of the most unique and compelling show concepts we've ever seen. Our featured couples will get a once-in-a-lifetime experience, while our viewers will get the kind of bold, break-through-the-clutter programming they increasingly associate with WeTV." The show's format, as described by the network, states: Couples go into a soundproof box without cameras. They have sex. Then, they have a frank and honest discussion about what just happened with a group of therapists and sex experts, in front of the studio audience.

Sex Box will be hosted by relationship therapist Fran Walfish of Beverly Hills, and will also star sex therapist Dr. Chris Donaghue and Florida pastor Dr. Yvonne Capehart. Backstage commentary will be provided by Danielle Stewart, a comedian.

The Sex Box TV series started as a special on the U.K.'s Channel 4 where it collected 906,000 viewers during its October 2013 debut and attracted much media attention. It was also a hit on the social media. Relativity Television, which acquired the rights to the series, pitched it to U.S. networks, with WeTV president Juris ordering a pilot of the series in March last year. In August, the cable network placed an order for a nine-episode season.

The debut episode will be featuring two couples. The first is Elle and Brandon, both musicians who have been married for six months. Their problem, said Elle is "He has an orgasm, and I don't." The second, Rebecca and Dyson, have been married for 10 years and have "had threesomes, foursomes, moresomes." Their problem, according to Rebecca is that Dyson wants a "thrupple" and she doesn't.
