The Kardashian's matriarch, Kris Jenner, has reportedly officially signed a $100 million contract with the E! Channel for four more seasons of the hit reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. However, the rumored deal was vehemently denied by E!'s parent company, NBC Universal. "The story that ran this morning is grossly inaccurate," E! spokeswoman Christel Wheeler reportedly said in a statement.
But an insider close to the situation tells People that the network is simply trying to keep the contract under wraps for future negotiating purposes. Another source close to the situation insisted to Variety that the deal is for three years, not four (although there may be an option year in play).
According to Page Six, the deal, the highest in TV history for a reality brand, covers at least four more seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians as well as spinoffs, which have included Kourtney and Khloé Take the Hamptons. The deal with the network was reportedly put together by the matriarch and manager of the family, Kris Jenner, and it includes her daughters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian as well as Kylie and Kendall Jenner. Bruce Jenner was reportedly not included in the deal, as he will having his own reality-TV show on E! chronicling his transition to become a woman. Kim's husband, is reportedly also not part of the deal, although he will continue to appear on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Page Six says the deal is being kept strictly under wraps.
Quoting an unnamed source, Page Six wrote: "You'll be seeing a lot more of the Kardashian family. This is a huge deal, which will see their involvement with the network and its digital properties expand well into the future." E! Reportedly has an eye on future vehicles for the youngest generation of the Kardashian clan - Kendall and Kyloe Jenner.
Season 10 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians will premiere on Sunday, March 15.
