Legendary Digital Media and Fullscreen have announced Thursday that they will be rebooting Sid and Marty Krofft's classic '70s sci-fi for children TV series, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. The original series aired 16 12-minute episodes from September 1976 to September 1977 as part of the umbrella series The Krofft Supershow.

For the reboot of the cult classic children TV series, Digital Media and Fullscreen have teamed up with YouTube sensations Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart who will be starring as the new Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, respectively. Both have large social media followings with a combined total of over 10 million subscribers and followers according to Entertainment Weekly. The upcoming new TV show will be directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, and produced by Helbig and Hart with their managers Ken Treusch and Sarah Weichel, along with Contradiction Films' Tim Carter and Tomas Harlan. Sid and Marty Krofft, the duo responsible for creating the original series, will serve as executive producers.

In the announcement, Legendary Digital Media SVP for development and production Greg Siegel said: "Legendary is no stranger to the world of superheroes and we're excited that Sid & Marty Krofft's Electra Woman and Dyna Girl will mark the first female crime-fighting duo for our brand. Partnering with Fullscreen to deliver top quality digital content for our global fan base is an exciting next step for our growing digital division. I look forward to seeing how Grace and Hannah bring these caped crusaders back to life."

For his part, Fullscreen CEO George Strompolos said: "Sid and Marty Krofft, who were behind the original series, will serve as executive producers. This is basically our plot to break the Internet in 2015. As we continue to expand our premium content strategy, we're extremely proud to collaborate with such great partners and can't wait to bring this amazing concept to fans everywhere."

Helbig, who is best known for her It's Grace channel, and Hart, of My Drunk Kitchen fame, both on Youtube, also jointly made a videotaped announcement of their upcoming TV show which can be accessed on Variety and other entertainment websites.
