Markice Moore, a rapper and actor better known by his stage name 'Kesan,' was found unresponsive Tuesday morning at his Woodland Hills home by friends. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where it was learned he overdosed on a mix of Xanax and Patron in an apparent suicide attempt. After initially being placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold, Moore was released and is now undergoing therapy.
Moore's manager released a public statement that reads: "At this time, Mr. Moore is focused on getting the help he needs and moving forward with his life to live it to the fullest. He has a bright future ahead of him that he is looking forward to. We ask that you respect his privacy while he is taking time to heal and keep Markice and his family in your prayers."
Moore reportedly left behind a recorded suicide video in which he outlined his plan to end his life and in which he told his kids why he wanted to take away his own life according to TMZ. His manager also reportedly told the entertainment and celebrity gossip site that the rapper was despondent over the recent death of his grandmother.
Back in 2010, Moore was charged with cruelty to children after he assaulted his infant daughter. The charge was dismissed the following year. He later married his daughter's mother, and had another child with her.
In 2012, Moore played the role of prison survivor Andrew in three episodes during The Walking Dead's third season. He made his start on the small screen with MTV's From G's To Gents reality TV show. He also appeared in the films ATL in 2006, Blood Done Sign My Name in 2009 and Bolden! in 2010.
