More information is slowly coming out about the action movie. The newest casting addition announced is the 30-year-old actress, Rebecca Ferguson. She is best known for her role on BBC's "The White Queen" for which her performance was nominated for a Golden Globe. Ferguson will also star alongside Dwayne Johnson in the upcoming action movie Hercules.

The director previously worked with Tom on the film Jack Reacher. Cruise will be back to reprise the role of Ethan Hunt as well as produce. Jeremy Renner will return as William Brandt.
The last Mission: Impossible film, Ghost Protocol, was Tom Cruise's largest-grossing film of his career. He also riding high off his movie Edge Of Tomorrow, which has done $400 million worldwide. Cruise has had his troubles in recent years being a top-selling movie star, so it looks like he still has strong international appeal to carry future movies.
Paramount Pictures had originally set the film for a December 25, 2015 release but moved it to July 31, 2015 in January 2015. The main reason cited by The Hollywood Reporter was to avoid competition with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Spectre. On February 13, 2015, Paramount and IMAX Corporation announced to digitally re-mastered the film into the IMAX format and release in IMAX theaters worldwide on the scheduled date.
