Jennifer Lopez recently took her twins - son Max and daughter Emme, to a taping of her Neighborhood Sessions With Jennifer Lopez free concert performance at Orchard Beach in her old Bronx neighborhood. For her social media followers, she also shared via Twitter a rare photo of the two shown wearing heart-shaped sunglasses and puckering up for a kiss, which she captioned "My funny Valentines!!! #LOVE #LoveIsAllThatMaters #TrueLove."
The 45-year-old Jenny from the Block singer brought along the twins, her children from her previous marriage with Marc Anthony, around the places in her old neighborhood that helped pave the way for her future as a bankable international star. Headlined by Lopez, the Valentine's Day concert special was created by TNT in partnership with State Farm. In the music special, she was shown taking the six-year-old twins to the local Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx where she spent time as a child. "This is where it all started for me," she said in scene. "I was walking these streets and thinking about what I wanted my life to be and dreaming about singing and dancing and acting and how could I make that happen from here. It seemed far-fetched. But at the same time, my dreams were bigger than the idea that it couldn't be done. Those are wonderful memories. Those are not memories like thank god I got out of the Bronx. I never think of it that way, ever. There was nothing bad about that place. It's what shaped me and made me who I am."
In an interview with US Weekly after the taping, Lopez said: "That I even have kids now, that I'm walking them through there, it all feels so surreal. But it was great. I told them, 'This is the best place in the world to me,' and they just kind of looked around like, 'Why this place?' But that's just what it is, it's that place where your dreams began."
The "Neighborhood Sessions," according to State Farm, is a music series which celebrates "music, artists and the good neighbors that inspired those artists to be great. In each session, we bring artists back home for a special hometown show to shine a spotlight on both the artist and the inspiring people in their community."
