Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, is not too happy with what Kendrick Lamar said about the outcome of the Michael Brown case wherein an unarmed teenaged black man who just robbed a nearby convenience store was shot and killed by a responding police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.

Cudi via his Twitter account wrote: "Dear black artists, don't talk down on the black community like you are Gods gift to n*ggaz everywhere." He never mentioned Kendrick's name but those who follow his tweets believe he was talking about Lamar's seemingly controversial comments about the Ferguson incident.

The comments appeared in an interview Kendrick did with Billboard magazine which was mostly about his music and his upbringing, but also incidentally touched on his views on police brutality, on Iggy Azalea, and even on the Biblical end of days. What he said about the Michael Brown case reads: "I wish somebody would look in our neighborhood knowing that it's already a situation, mentally, where it's f---ked up. What happened to [Michael Brown] should've never happened. Never. But when we don't have respect for ourselves, how do we expect them to respect us? It starts from within. Don't start with just a rally, don't start from looting -- it starts from within."

Apparently, some people took offense with what Lamar said. First off was Harlem-raised 23-year-old Azealia Banks who tweeted a series of messages, including: "When we don't respect ourselves how can we expect them to respect us" dumbest shit I've ever heard a black man say."; "Lol do you know about the generational effects of poverty, racism and discrimination?"; "There are things in society that benefit a select few of us. fine.... But don't put down the rest by saying they don't respect themselves."; "HOW DARE YOU open ur face to a white publication and tell them that we don't respect ourselves.... Speak for your fucking self."; and, "The black community will NEVER be able to "fix" itself so long as we're living within white means and by white devices."

Cudi followed suit with his own tweet, prompting Lupe Fiasco to respond in defense of Lamar, "How about you stop shitting on the people who really cared about your well-being when this biz was ripping you apart. Fake ass @KidCudi" Cudi then tweeted back: "My comments come from a place of love. Sorry if I offended anyone, except Poopé Fiasco. Fuck that n---az feelings haha dweeb." Banks then re-entered the scene with a Twitter post saying, "What's a lupe fiasco? A spicy taco?"
