Season 2 episode 11 of NBC's The Blacklist which airs Thursday, February 12, at its 9:00-10:00 pm time slot is entitled "Ruslan Denisov." According to the studio synopsis, when an undercover CIA agent is kidnapped by a band of separatists in Uzbekistan, the task force sets a rescue mission in motion. Red (James Spader) informs Agents Keen (Megan Boone) and Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) that they are up against a certain Ruslan Denisov, (guest star Faran Thair) a very dangerous past associate. Also guest starring in the episode are Harry Lennix, Amir Arison and Mozhan Marno.

After last week's conclusion to the two-part Luther Braxton storyline, another character from Red's blacklist will show up to cause trouble for the task force. Another kidnapping will take place although this time a CIA agent will be the victim of the abduction. In the network's promo trailer, Red is heard telling Liz: "Careful on this one, Lizzie. You have more than just a Blacklister to worry about this time." The one Red is referring to, the Ruslan Denisov in the episode's title, as suggested by the scenes of him self-flagellating may unlike the other blacklisters be motivated by more than just greed for material things or lust for power. But then, Red too may also find himself in great danger in the Blacklist's upcoming episode following his big confrontation with the NSC Director (David Strathairn). In the trailer clip, a voice is heard saying, "I want Reddington taken down," while a sniper in the woods is shown having Red in his crosshairs. Presumably, episode 11 will also further continue with the Fullcrum story arc. As seen last week, Keen found what appeared to be a small flash drive - the Fulcrum, sewn inside her stuffed toy bunny. Expectedly, what she will do with it should should be seen next.

In related news, NBC has announced that The Blacklist has been renewed for a third season. According to the network, the show which is moving to its new 9 p.m. Thursday timeslot this week, is averaging a 5.1 rating, 15 share in adults 18-49 and 17.4 million viewers so far this season, based on the "most current" averages from Nielsen Media Research, and delivers the biggest average increase in television of time-shifted viewers going from next-day "live plus same day" ratings to "live plus seven day" results, increasing by 6.3 million viewers.
