Halo 5: Guardians' scheduled official release date is still on December 31, 2015. But a full year before that date, a beta version was publicly released for testing purposes. Based on the data and feedback gathered for the period December 29-January 18 from some one million players participating in nearly 20 million matches, game developer 343 Industries on Thursday released a list of changes the company is planning to make before the final version of Halo 5: Guardians is officially launched.
In an interview with Game Spot, 343 Industries executive producer Josh Holmes said "the more information we have, the more input we have, the more equipped we are to make decisions as designers." With the results from the beta release now in, they have enough feedback information from the community of users for how they will plan to tweak and adjust the overall multi-player experience before Halo 5's scheduled launch this December. Based on what was learned from the gaming community, Holmes said forthcoming changes may be expected on "everything from weapon placements on maps, to lighting improvements, to rule tweaks in game modes and modifications to the motion tracker to encourage more movement at higher levels of play. Our team constantly looks for ways to improve the game and we'll continue to do so until launch later this year and beyond."
Holmes, via IGN, also thanked the beta participants. He said: "Looking back, this beta has been an amazing gift for us. The feedback we have received from all of you has been invaluable in helping us to improve our game. On behalf of the entire Halo 5: Guardians team, we thank you for your support. We absolutely couldn't do this without you. I hope you enjoyed your first glimpse into the future of Halo multi-player and look forward to sharing more with you in the months ahead."
