Yes, you heard it right! Terminator Genisys, which is directed by Alan Taylor, who also directed Thor: The Dark World, is all set to be released in July this year. Reportedly, the fifth installment in the Terminator series will act as a sequel, prequel, and is supposed to end up resetting the entire series. Interesting, isn't it?
The official trailer for the film was released by Paramount Pictures on December 4, 2014. One of the most nail-biting scenes in the trailer and the one most appreciated by the Terminator series fans was the one where Arnold Schwarzenegger's older Guardian form fights with his badass self form of 1984. According to the sources, the fight in the movie will be better than what was witnessed between T-800 and T-1000 in Terminator 2.
The movie has Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator, Emilia Clarke as none other than Sarah Connor, stellar performer Jason Clarke as the very macho John Connor, Lee Byung-Hun as the T-1000 and Courtney B. Vance as Miles Dyson. Besides Schwarzenegger, almost the entire crew represents a group of newcomers. The shooting for the film began in April, 2014 in New Orleans. The movie is about the effort made by the ageing terminator, Reese, and Connor's mother Sarah, to save the world from the 'Judgment Day'.
According to the sources, several efforts were made to keep the cinematography of the film similar to the visuals depicted in the first two films in the Terminator series. Reportedly, two sequels to the film are planned by Paramount Pictures and are scheduled to be released in 2017 and 2018. The American sci-fi action film is ready to hit the theaters on July 1, 2015. Arnold's fans should better put their seat belts on!
