It's not strange for celebrities to start having second thoughts on the idea of marrying someone. Count Mindy Kaling into this demographic. Although the actress admits that she would've instantly said yes to B.J Novak back when they were dating, things aren't the same anymore for the actress as she feels no urge to commit herself to anyone as of the moment.
People quotes her interview with Good Housekeeping February 2015 issue where "The Office" star shares on her different ideals when she was younger and how her parents' relationship has influenced her greatly. "When I was younger, I wanted so badly to be married and have kids in a rush. I loved my parents' relationship. The way my father was with my mother when she was dying was so moving. It was such devotion. I don't know that that will happen for me, but I like it." She further adds on why she isn't lenient on walking down the aisle anytime soon, "I don't need marriage. I don't need anyone to take care of all my needs and desires. I can take care of them myself now."
Though Mindy's love life isn't as colorful as her onscreen character, she did share that she has her own dream man in mind and how her ideal relationship should run. E! quotes, "If I could relive the first three months of courtship over and over for the rest of my life, I would. Especially in winter. Who doesn't like a nice heavy seven-course meal with lots of alcohol, then making out when you're a little tipsy and taking a cab home to fall asleep in the clothes you wore on the date? Wait. Actually that was, like, my whole twenties. And it was very fun."
