One of the most acclaimed TV series in the outbreak of the new millennium, 24, might be back in the small screen.
The series ran from 2001 to 2010 and and came back in 2014 for another shortened season titled "Live Another Day". Many thought a movie is on its way, but despite positive reviews and fans persuasions for its continuity, it did not pushed through.
At the TCA Winter Press Tour Fox presentation on Jan 13, Fox Television Group Chairman and CEO Gary Newman hinted that the network may not be done with the Kiefer Sutherland fan-favorite show, 24.
At the conference, he addressed the series, which was brought back this past year for 12 episodes with "Live Another Day." The Fox exec implied though there are no plans yet to bring Sutherland's show back, but the network isn't ready to close that door completely.
"24,' we have no current plans [to bring it back] though we are in discussions," he said. "And we would love nothing more than to do another '24.'"
Apparently, in another news, Kiefer Sutherland may not be back as Jack Bauer in the planned reboot. "We have discussed it with him," according to Fox Chairman and CEO Dana Walden at the TCA press tour. "We talk to Kiefer all the time. He's a great creative partner, potentially he won't be in this installment. We're not sure yet. We're not that far along, but I know he supports us doing more 24."
But the news did not surprise the 48-year-old actor as he mentioned that "Live Another Day" is the closure for the character he portrayed since its conceptualization and he did not see himself returning for the franchise.
Some of the other Fox series' that have plans to be rebooted are Prison Break and The X-Files.
