This week's episode of Empire had about 10 million people tuning in to see how Hakeem's father, Lucious is all out to push his company from "the street" to "Wall Street". Hakeem's performance in Empire is what makes him a star.
Lucious is also apprehensive about his gay son, and he may be a powerful businessman, but he doesn't have the power to keep his son out of public sight. He is ambitious and wants to make money but is wary of his cash following other bulls. The tension between him and his gay son is palpable.
It seems that keeping secrets is a part of family tradition and the way Lucious uses the character of inheritance to get his son work is amusing. Ironic tragedy brings the whole family together that is straying away from each other, as BillBoard reports about the show.
Fox's Empire is indeed looking impressive, and the first drama is posting massive gains in the ratings. This could fast become the No. 1 show among young adults during night hour, raking in 10.3 million viewers aged 18-49. "Empire" ratings were up by 5% in the demo and this is the highest score for any show ever since we saw Marvel's Agents of SHIELD premiering in September 2013.
The Fox soap has dominated the competition impressively and has easily beaten up runner-up ABC and has dominant all categories under-55. It has even sidelined CBS' Criminal Minds. Other shows like Modern Family and Black-ish are also hitting lows. African-American viewers too are taking keener interest see a rare head-to-head showdown in Empire.
The viewers are eager for next week and find out what happens to Cookie and if she will testify to a grand jury. A deal has already been struck between Agent Carter and Cookie. Well, wait for the next episode of Fox's Empire to find out!
