Alison Pill's onscreen romances in the hit HBO series, The Newsroom, were rocky all together but real life is quite different.
Alison Pill, who portrayed Maggie Jordan, got engaged to her fellow actor and off-screen boyfriend, Joshua Leonard at Joshua Tree National Park.
Pill posted a photo of them both showing off her 1920's vintage styled ring with the caption, "Let's do this 2015!," quotes Entertainment Online.
Documenting the whole proposal was her Newsroom co-star, Tom Sadoski. Sadoski played the part of Don Keefer who was Maggie Jordan's ex and producer of the HBO drama. "I had been on a rocky mountain top in Joshua Tree, and Tommy Sadoski, who is like my older brother, who plays Don [Keefer] on The Newsroom, documented with his camera the entire thing," the 29-year-old Pill told Us Weekly.
The couple also shared on how Leonard proposed to her and how Pill almost didn't make it to the proposal. "We should also add that just before it happened Alison nearly fell off the rocky cliffside, so I ushered her over under the guise of protecting her from falling to her death," Leonard tells Us Weekly.
Leonard also shares that prior to the proposal he had first sought permission from her parents over the holidays. "Alison comes from a feminist household, so I figured it would be important to ask both parents' permission, lest it seem too patriarchal, and they were both very supportive, as are my parents, so it's very exciting."
Post-Newsroom, Pill's career and life is going to high speed this 2015. Aside from her upcoming wedding, she'll be starring in the movie, ZOOM which is a film about a comic book artist, a novelist and a film director creating stories about each other.
Wedding date is yet to be announced.
