Tina Fey teased earlier in the week at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that she and Amy Poehler had some Bill Cosby jokes up their sleeve when they hosted the 2015 Golden Globes. Well when their opening monologue came on Sunday night, they stuck to their word.
The jokes about Cosby came toward the end of their 10-minute opening (which you can watch above) and they were in no rush to let up. They made sure to get their joke across and went on for about a minute. The crowd seemed a little shocked at first, but eventually most of the crowd seemed to really get a kick out of it.
"Sleeping Beauty just thought that she was grabbing coffee with Bill Cosby," Poehler joked in reference to the character's appearance in Disney musical Into the Woods.
They continued with both Fey and Poehler impersonating Cosby saying, "I put the pills in the people that the people did not want put into them."
More and more women keep coming forward accusing Bill Cosby of sexual assault and drugging instances over the past 30 years. He has kept quiet on the situation for the most part but has reportedly been working with a private investigative firm to find out some dirt on the accusing women.
What did you think of Fey and Poehler's jokes about Cosby? Did you think they were funny or out of bounds?
