Glee's Sue Sylvester, Jane Lynch, had almost joined the acclaimed comedy sitcom Friends.
The actress talked to HuffPost Live about the upcoming final season of Glee that premiered on Jan. 9.
There were rumors that she almost joined the cast of Friends, portraying as Phoebe Buffay, but despite the stories circling around, the 54-year-old actress shuts down those rumors as simply as "just rumors".
"That's an urban myth, it's a Hollywood myth," the two time Emmy winner told HuffPost Live. "...I would have loved that audition, at that time in my life I wasn't getting that level of audition, that's for sure!" Lynch went on to explain her insider knowledge about how Kudrow ended up landing the role.
It would seem that Lisa Kudrow got the role of Roz on Frasier but was later on fired. Kudrow then ended up being part of the cast in Friends, which according to Lynch, was a role of a lifetime.
The delightfully vicious Lynch admitted that she was a huge fan of Friends and had even guest-starred as a real estate agent in one of the show's final episodes.
"There was a time when it was in syndication, I was watching it two times a day, and I love it, I think it's a great multi-camera sitcom, one of the best ever made," she said.
As with her current show, Glee, the actress said she gets to act alongside high-caliber stars and small-screen stars. Olivia Newton-John was a favorite as she had always been a fan of the Australian actress. Lynch's dog was even named after the Grease star and the remake of the "Physical" video with Newton-John was an absolute fun, Lynch explained.
Apart from Newton-John, Carol Burnett was one of her favorites too and admitted she is a fan as well. Burnett played her character's mother in the hit show.
