House of Cards Season 3 will return as announced by Netflix via Twitter. The announcement was made by the network with a message stating "A special message from the White House", and along with this is a short video to promote the date of the new season on February 27, 2015.
Fans are worried that this might be the last season they will see since the BBC counterpart ran for three seasons only.
Lead star, Kevin Spacey, thinks the show will not follow an early demise compared to the UK version. The actor's response after being asked on how long the show will last was "he has no idea" and is "enjoying it very much".
He also added, "It seems that audiences are as well, so you know, I see no reason why it can't go on for a while," according to BreatheCast.
In the original series, Frank's wife, Claire Underwood was the character's bane. If this isn't the route they take this time, the show will ultimately have to go it's own way this season.
It is still unclear on what premise the show will take this season, but there have been talks on Frank tackling foreign affairs in his new position of power, particularly Russia.
On that note, Polish filmmaker, Agnieszka Holland had this to say after guest directing Season 3:
"Without telling you what happens, once Frank Underwood becomes president, suddenly he faces different responsibilities and international situations, and I think there are some similarities to what's going on now. Because I have knowledge of international politics, know more about the Russians and what they do, I can bring that to the show."
