Fox has announced that Bob's Burgers will be back for a sixth season on Thursday (Jan 8). The Emmy-winning animated series will return 22 episodes. The renewal was one of the first made under FOX network chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman.

This gem of a series is a rare feel-good blend of sharp wit and genuine heart that fans and critics alike have continued to love throughout its five seasons on Fox," Walden and Newman said in a joint statement. "We are proud of Loren and Jim and the extremely talented voice cast who bring these unique characters to life with both humor and charm each week. We can't wait to see what they have in store for season six."
Bob's Burgers is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. The comedy is from creator Loren Bouchard and exec producer Jim Dauterive (King of the Hill) with animation produced by Bento Box Entertainment. The popular series received their first Emmy win for outstanding animated series in 2014.
Bob's Burgers opened Season 5 with a 60 percent ratings bump compared to the fourth-season finale. The show was recently was nominated for a 2014 Annie Award for best general audience animated television/broadcast production, and received two 2014 Writers Guild Award nominations in the animation category.
Bob's Burgers joins a 2015-16 Fox lineup that also includes Seth MacFarlane's Sunday staple Family Guy and Ryan Murphy's horror comedy anthology Scream Queens, the latter of which was picked up straight to series under Walden and Newman.
The series centers on the Belchers-parents Bob and Linda, and their children Tina, Gene, and Louise-who run a hamburger restaurant. The family was conceived by Bouchard after developing Home Movies.
The series premiere on January 9, 2011 titled "Human Flesh", drew in 9.38 million viewers, making it the highest-rated series premiere of the season and also finished 9th in the ratings for the week it aired. The series started airing past aired episodes in syndication on Cartoon Network's late night adult programming block Adult Swim on June 23, 2013.
A comic book series based on the show, published by Dynamite Entertainment, began in September 2014, and a soundtrack album is planned for a future release.
In 2013, TV Guide ranked Bob's Burgers as one of the top 60 Greatest TV Cartoons of All Time. The series has been nominated for several awards, including the Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program in 2012 and 2013, before it won the award in 2014.
