The HBO hit show "Game of Thrones" is coming to select theaters at the end of the month. The last two episodes from Season 4 will be showing at 150 theaters in IMAX format across the U.S. from January 23-29. In addition the audience will get a sneak peak trailer for the upcoming Season 5, which will premiere in April on HBO.
"The cinematic brilliance and grand scope of the series is perfect for the IMAX format," Pamela Levine, chief marketing officer at HBO, shared in a statement. "We are always looking to provide fans with new and exciting ways to experience the show and viewing two key episodes, along with the new trailer, on such an impressive platform makes for a great event."
IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond added, "IMAX always seeks innovative ways to provide moviegoers a unique and differentiated experience and today's partnership with HBO and 'Game of Thrones' achieves just that. This deal also furthers our efforts to offer exhibitors the opportunity to participate in alternative forms of content in a new and exciting way."
It was announced earlier this Summer that the popular HBO show would be extended through a sixth season and now a seventh and presumably final season is going to happen. In order to retain much of the main cast for two more years, a big payday was in order according to THR. Cast involved in the deal (spoiler alert) is includes Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Natalie Dormer, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams.

Michelle Fairley, who plays the role of Catelyn Stark or Lady Stoneheart, told Entertainment Weekly that her character will no longer return to the series. "The character's dead. She's dead," she shared sadly.
She added the producers spoke with her and told her that Lady Stoneheart will not be revived in Season 5 or later either. "I knew the arc, and that was it. They can't stick to the books 100 percent. It's impossible- they only have 10 hours per season. They have got to keep it dramatic and exciting, and extraneous stuff along the way gets lost in order to maintain the quality of brilliant show," the actress said. In the book, Lady
"Game of Thrones" is coming off of their highest ratings of any season with the Season 4 finale. Bran will not be returning for Season 5, but Bran's old friend the Three-eyed Raven is being put at the center of a new promotional website for Game of Thrones' fifth season.
