Sleepy Hollow Season 2 returns Monday, January 5, at 9:00 p.m. on Fox with its 12th episode entitled "Paradise Lost." According to the network's official synopsis, Ichabod and Abbie, after reeling from the events of their standoff with Moloch, will encounter an angel, Orion, that they believe can help them. Meanwhile, Katrina searches for the humanity in Abraham. The show's regular cast will be back with Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane; Nicole Beharie as Lt. Abbie Mills; Katia Winter as Katrina Crane; John Noble as Henry Parish; Orlando Jones as Captain Frank Irving; and, Lyndie Greenwood as Jenny Mills. Max Brown guest stars as Orion. "Paradise Lost" was directed by John Leonette based on a script written by Melissa Blake.
Regarding what to expect from the mid-season premier, showrunner and executive producer Mark Goffman tells TVLine: "Right off the bat, we jump in with this story of this avenging angel. There's something inspirational that Abbie sees in his conviction and his abilities. As the story unfolds, it becomes extreme. There's a really interesting connection between Abbie and the angel." TVLine, in an earlier talk with Nicole Beharie gathered: "She [Abbie] sees in him someone who is actually completely living for what they believe, and finds that really inspiring and maybe even decides to sort of follow him in that."
With Molloch dead, killed by Henry no less at mid-season's climactic finale, Orion was set free from Purgatory. And he's out for vengeance against those who he thought were responsible for putting him there, with the Headless Horseman first on his list. Speaking of whom, Katrina has set him free on condition that he promise not to kill anyone. In the fight between the avenging angel and his former best friend, Ichabod chose to side with Abraham. But still elsewhere, Frank Irving is back from the dead. With Molloch gone, he too was set free from Henry's hold on his soul.
