Jamie Lynn Spears last weekend reportedly came to the rescue of a friend who was apparently attacked without provocation at the Pita Pit quick-service restaurant in Hammond, Louisiana, by first pulling her to safety behind the counter and then holding aloft the nearest thing she could get her hands on - which happened to be a serrated bread knife - in an attempt to put an end to the hostilities.
As gathered by E!News, Spears and her female friend were having a late night quiet meal at the sandwich shop when a fight broke out all of a sudden. During the melee, someone from among the brawling groups hit her friend down hard, allegedly with an empty bottle. Immediately, Spears dragged her fallen friend to safety behind the shop's counter. Then, after picking up the large bread knife, she waved it about until everyone cooled off and things began to settle down. When the police finally arrived, her friend said she was not pressing charges. Hence, no one was arrested.
Jack J. Brighenti, the owner of the Pita Pit outlet where the incident happened told E!News: "I have been with Pita Pit for several years, and have never seen anything like this before. The events that happened occurred after 2 a.m. this past Saturday night just before we closed. A group of males got into an altercation and for some reason Jamie Lynn Spears ran behind the counter and picked up a bread knife. Our management called the police immediately and thankfully nothing else happened. Our passion and focus is and always will be to serve the Hammond community healthy pitas!"
Just hours before the fight, Jamie Lynn shared a picture of herself with her friend via her Instagram account. From the looks of it, they were apparently just having some low-key girls' night out. Too bad, their evening was ruined.
