"Baby, it's cold outside (literally)," Idina Menzel tweeted to fans to explain why she lost steam when she came to the part of the high note at the closing 'Let the storm rage on'line of her signature Frozen theme song 'Let It Go.' With temperatures approaching zero, it really wasn't the perfect setting for an outdoor stage for any singer to perform. Yet, snarks and grinches with Twitter accounts just couldn't let go of the flub. They just have to tell the whole world too about what they think of the incident.

For the most part though, Idina, the voice behind Frozen's Snow Queen Elsa, did powerfully well during her live performance at the chilly Time Square outdoor stage. And she wasn't the only one to suffer a mishap either. A visibly shivering Taylor Swift tripped while walking down the stairs following her performance of 'Shake It Off' from her newest album '1989.' The 25-year-old singer quickly shook it off though and even joked that "maybe her stomach-baring outfit choice wasn't the best decision she ever made." Host Ryan Seacrest, ever a gentleman, gave her his coat while they waited for the clock to strike twelve. At the Time Square show, the other live performers aside from Idina Menzel and Taylor Swift are Florida Georgia Line, Magic!, and Jenny McCarthy. They were joined by Elton John who performed from Brooklyn as well as by Gavin DeGraw and Lady Antebellum who performed from Nashville.

Over at the Billboard Hollywood Party, the West Coast's version of the Rockin' Eve show, Fergie served as host and performed live as well. The other performers from the West Coast side of the yearly ABC New Year special were Iggy Azalea, Nick Jonas, One Direction, Meghan Trainor, Charli XCX, Bastille, Jason Derulo, Rixton, Pentatonix, Brantley Gilbert, Ella Henderson, Train, and Nico & Vinz.
