The Hunger Games - Mockingjay Part 1 is still going strong in theaters everywhere since its theatrical debut last November yet many are already speculating on what will happen on Mockingjay 2. Good news as there have been carefully calculated presumption on what may happen on the final movie. If you're squeamish about Mockingjay spoilers better steer away from the following paragraphs.
If you have watched Mockingjay Part 1, fans will know that the movie ended with a brainwashed Peeta ('hijacked' for your Hunger Games fans) attacking Katniss. It then closed with Katniss watching over a locked up Peeta. This kind of ending serves no surprises to those who have read the book as they have predicted that the movie would end in this manner. However the big question mark will lie on where will the final movie begin? Though movie fans will still have to wait for one more year to see the fourth installment of the adaptation of Suzanne Collins' young adult trilogy, there's no harm in predicting on how it will be flashed into the silver screen
Fashion and Style presented a few theories on some possible endings such as Katniss requesting to be sent into battle over at District 2, Peeta getting treated or a reunion between Katniss and Johanna.
In terms of the ending, fans of the book will know how it closes with a tragic ending but knowing how Hollywood rolls, it may not be the case for this franchise. For example, book fans will know that Katniss and Peeta will end up together with a son and a daughter 20 years after the battle against the tyranny of the Capitol and seeing so many lives and people lost. It would seem that it's not only the fans who would like to have a sweet ending as director Francis Lawrence expressed that he, too, would like to capture the same set of emotions the book had conveyed to its readers. Crossmap shared that during a previous interview about Mockingjay 2, Lawrence expressed that "the ending of the book and the book itself is just really important to me. I will just say that we're making the book" and further adds that they are being "very true to the book". This is further supported by a statement made by Jennifer Lawrence who plays Katniss in the book, "I'm going to be with Peeta; it's a scene in the future".
