In a recent interview with Orlando Bloom, who plays Will Turner in the last three installments of the blockbuster franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Disney might elect for a soft reboot in the coming fifth installment. The sequel is titled, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
According to Bloom in a statement posted in Movie News Guide., "I'm not entirely sure that [I'll be back] just yet, but there are talks, basically they want to reboot the whole franchise, I think, and do something with me and the relationship with my son."
But, in Bloom's statement alone, it would be hard for Disney to reboot the movie as it requires drastic changes that could confuse the audiences. We will see what Disney will do.
"I'm of course Davey Jones now, so I'm down the bottom of the ocean. It might be kind of fun to do something where I'm rumbling round the bottom of the ocean, because I won't look anything like me" adds Bloom.
The movie will start filming in Australia by early next year for five months. The film will be directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg of the Kon-Tiki fame. Johnny Depp is set to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush as Hector Barbossa.
Javier Bardem is rumored to play as the main antagonist where his character is described as "a ghost captain who blames Sparrow for the death of his brother who is on search for a supernatural object to aid him."
And of course, along with that is a potential love for the hero himself, but the actress playing it has not been disclosed yet. Capt Jack Sparrow's love interest is said to be a witch.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set for a worldwide release on July 7, 2017.
