The Fantastic Four reboot has been relatively quiet on the production process these past few months. Recently, some information were provided as to why there is a difference on the 2005 film compared to this new film.
Just when everybody thought this is another movie with the same plot, it would seem that the reboot is completely set in another universe than any other Fantastic Four movie before it. The film is said to involve alternate universe travel.
According to CinemaBlend, "THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy."
This means that not only do we see the quartet battle Doctor Doom with them wearing sexy Spandex suits, but we will also see them being played younger than before.
The use of alternate universe has been going on in the comics for some time for the quartet like the Ultimate Fantastic Four. With this introduction, cross-overs are just within reach, meaning we might see some cameos or possible collaborations with the Avengers. This probably is the good news that comic fans are waiting for.
The Fantastic Four reboot will star Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, and Jamie Bell. Its theatrical release will be on August 7, 2015.
