The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth is Kate Winslet’s romantic interest in The Dressmaker

Chris Hemsworth's younger brother Liam, 24, is cast as the love interest of Kate Winslet, 39, in The Dressmaker, a film scheduled for theater screening on October 1, 2015, which screenplay writer and director Jocelyn Moorhouse describes as "Unforgiven with a sewing machine."

The Dressmaker is a film adaptation of author Rosalie Ham's debut novel of the same name which is set in the 1950's in Dungatar, a fictional Australian country town, andwhich explores the themes of "love, hate and haute couture." It follows the story of Tilly Dunnage (played by Winslet) who returns to Dungatar to take care of her ailing and mentally unstable mother Molly (played by Judy Davis), from where she was sent away when she was ten because of false accusations of murder in the accidental death of the town councilor's young son. Tilly, who was trained in Paris by Madeleine Vionnet, a real-life celebrated fashion designer of the era, set up shop as a dressmaker and transforms the locals with her couture creations. In the process, she exacts her revenge on those who have wrongly accused her of the murder several year back.

In the film, Hemsworth plays the role of Teddy McSwiney, the love interest of Tilly and the town's star footballer. Director Moorhouse, on why she chose him for the part, toldVariety: "Liam Hemsworth is a laid back, genuine charmer who's also tall, dark and movie-star handsome. He'll create a character for the audience to fall in love with."

Already, entertainment and celebrity scribes who witnessed filming of some scenes for The Dressmaker seemed to have fallen, if not in love, in lust with The Hunger Gamesstar's rugged physicality. Bianca Soldani at Daily Mail writes: "His brother may be the God Of Thunder, but Liam Hemsworth looks to be giving Thor actor Chris a run for his money. The 24-year-old star put on quite a display on the set of his new movie The Dressmaker, last week as he showed off his bulging biceps."

Sierra Marquina at US Weekly says: "Hemsworth, on the other hand, stole the show on set, showing off his muscles in a rugby uniform as footballer Teddy McSwiney, the man who ends up wooing Winslet's character. Hemsworth clutches a football with his sturdy-looking arms clad in a red tank and black short shorts."

Ryan Roschke at Pop Sugar gushes: "Hemsworth showed off his wonderfully shaped arm muscles in Australia last week while on the set of his latest project. During the scene, Liam's character gets all sweaty during a rugby match, while Kate Winslet's character observes. We have to assume she's staring at the same thing we are, since Liam is the latest in a long line of celebrity guys who just can't contain their muscles."
