"Pretty Little Liars" aired their one night Christmas special last Tuesday night (December 9th) on ABC Family that gave fans all a chance to catch up with the latest.
Now, the focus shifts to the Season 5 winter premiere that airs on Tuesday, Jan 6th. Cast star Keegan Allen spoke this week about the upcoming Spring finale, saying it would be 'tremendous'.
He was on a recent press conference call where shared about the upcoming episodes, "This one really, really does [compare to the others]! I can't say anything except we all read it together in the room and every single one of us, you have to understand we've been doing this, we've been creating this world for so long now it's hard to surprise us with anything."
Keegan added about the finale, "This surprised us all, and it's something that is incredible. It's so tremendous. I can just promise that it will go down in history as crazy. It will be totally mind-blowing."
ABC Family noted that, on Instagram, Pretty Little Liars has become the No. 1 most-followed scripted show, with more than 1.1 million followers, topping No. 2-ranked Netflix's Orange is the New Black (836,136).
The show is set in the fictional town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania and follows the lives of four girls: Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin, Emily Fields, and Spencer Hastings, whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, Alison DiLaurentis. One year later, the estranged friends are reunited as they begin receiving messages from a mysterious figure named "A", who threatens to expose their deepest secrets,including ones they thought only Alison knew. At first, they think it's Alison herself, but after her body is found, the girls realize that someone else is planning on ruining their perfect lives.
The show passed the milestone of 100th episode earlier this season. "Pretty Little Liars" premiered on June 8, 2010 on ABC Family and is currently in Season 5 which will feature 25 episodes. The show stars Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Tyler Blackburn, Holly Marie Combs, Ian Harding and more. In June 2014, "Pretty Little Liars" was renewed for a sixth and seventh season.
