Martin Freeman is set to host "Saturday Night Live" on December 13th with musical guest Charli XCX and NBC has released a short promo video with cast member Keenan Thompson. You can watch the video above.
Martin John Christopher Freeman is best known for portraying Tim Canterbury in The Office, Dr. John Watson in Sherlock, Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit film trilogy, and Lester Nygaard in Fargo.
His other notable film roles include Love Actually (2003), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005), Nativity! (2009), and the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, most prominently in The World's End (2013). Among other accolades, he has won an Emmy Award, BAFTA Award and an Empire Award, with other nominations including two other Emmy Awards.
Charli XCX is featured on the hit song "Fancy" with Iggy Azalea, which achieved international success and brought her to international prominence. The release her single "Boom Clap" gave Charli XCX her first top 10 hit as a solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100. Her new album Sucker is set to release on December 16th.
The 40th Season of "SNL" kicked off on September 27th with Guardians of the Galaxy movie star Chris Pratt hosting and musical guest Ariana Grande, both making SNL debuts.
"SNL" has been going through a lot of changes they have announced more today for the upcoming 40th season. Comedian/writer Michael Che is set to replace Cecily Strong as the anchor for the weekly segment "Weekend Update". Che will co-anchor the segment with Colin Jost, who began to co-anchor with Strong midway through last season.
