James Franco is back to host "Saturday Night Live" on November 22nd with musical guest Nicki Minaj and NBC has released some teaser footage. The trailer is of Franco and cast member Cecily Strong.
When Strong asks Franco why he keeps coming back to host, he shares; "I've thought about this and with all the terrible things going on in the world, I just want to give the people a night where they can forget about their problems and laugh."
"That is so sweet. I do this show just to get laid," Cecily replies, to which James says, "Yea me too. It's just that that speech makes it a lot easier."
This will be Franco's third time hosting SNL.
The 40th Season of "SNL" kicked off on September 27th with Guardians of the Galaxy movie star Chris Pratt hosting and musical guest Ariana Grande, both making SNL debuts.
"SNL" has been going through a lot of changes they have announced more today for the upcoming 40th season. Comedian/writer Michael Che is set to replace Cecily Strong as the anchor for the weekly segment "Weekend Update". Che will co-anchor the segment with Colin Jost, who began to co-anchor with Strong midway through last season.
Franco's first prominent acting role was the lead character, "Daniel Desario", on the short-lived cult hit television program Freaks and Geeks. He later played the title character in the TV biographical film James Dean (2001), for which he won a Golden Globe Award. He played Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002-2007). He is also known for his roles in the films Pineapple Express (2008), Milk (2008), 127 Hours (2010), Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Oz the Great and Powerful (2013), Spring Breakers (2013), and This Is the End (2013). He also had a recurring role in the ABC soap opera General Hospital.
For his role in 127 Hours, the 36-year-old actor was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor.
