Katy Perry Confirmed to Play at the Super Bowl Half Time Show
Will the "I got the eye of the tiger" make the Super Bowl Roar like Champion?
NFL announced last late Sunday night that the "Prism" Pop star will headline the Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 1 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. It will air on NBC.
Last August the rumors begin to circulate when according to Wall Street Journal, it was reported that NFL has requested Katy Perry to pay the league for the honor of playing the show. But this was met with so much criticism that Katy Perry posted on her twitter account that "Negotiating 101: You always win if you have nothing to lose!"-@katyperry. She even said that "I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl," in her one of the appearance on ESPN's College Game Day last Oct. 4, Saturday.
But after months of rumors, finally it was confirmed during Football halftime of the Cowboys vs. Giants game. This was announced last Sunday night by Bob Costas.
It was even confirmed on Twitter by NFL itself: @nfl "It's confirmed! @katyperry will headline the @pepsi @superbowl#halftime show on @SNFonNBC on Feb. 1!"
Katy Perry herself made a tweet: "My band is in the other room screaming at the TV (and each other) over this Cowboys-Giants game. Can't wait for February 1st... ???????"
If this is the case the Grammy-nominated star's upcoming performance will be the first time for the said event. Her charisma and energetic pop performance was the key for her great success in this industry. Her show stopping performance and her undeniable hits that stays at no.1 for several weeks in 100 Billboard top charts was all the reason why it will be a dream come true for the fans of the Super Bowl Half Time Show to see her perform on the said event. Many fans are anticipating this upcoming performance and surely, it will be another show-stopping event to wait for.
