Teresa and Joe Giudice can no longer bank as husband and wife.
Teresa Giudice Discusses "Unexpected" Prison Sentence On 'WWHL'
According to a new report, the Real Housewives of New Jersey couple, who was recently sentenced to prison on charges of fraud, has been ordered to keep their finances separate from this point on.
"The 'Real Housewives' stars were ordered to keep their personal and business accounts completely separate," TMZ reported on Oct. 12, citing court documents as their source of knowledge.
On Oct. 2, Teresa and Joe appeared in a New Jersey court room, where Teresa was dealt a 15-month prison term and Joe was sentenced to 41 months. The couple was ordered to each pay more than $400,000 in restitution, as well.
Judging by the report, the court has opted to have the Giudice's finances separate in an effort to make sure they are each paying for their own mistakes. In other words, the judge didn't want Teresa to pay Joe's restitution, and vice versa.
The judge also said she did not consider "anonymous letters and phone calls from the public in regards to sentencing."
Although Teresa and Joe both received jail time, the judge will not require them to be behind bars at the same time. Instead, Teresa will serve her time, and when she's finished, Joe will turn himself in. This way, the couple's four daughters will never be without at least one of their parents.
Teresa will begin her 15-month sentence on Jan. 5, allowing her to spend the holidays with her family.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
