Bethany Mota proved herself once again by advancing on last night's Dancing With The Stars.

On Monday night, Mota and partner Derek Hough danced the rumba to "Try" by Colbie Caillat. The night's theme honored each contestant's most memorable year of their lives, and Mota decided to channel her experiences with online bullies.

"A bully is someone who doesn't love themselves. Now with Twitter and Instagram and Facebook and everything, people love to write terrible things," Hough said about Mota's experiences, according to an Oct. 5 report by Inquisitr.

It's very touching that Mota's 29-year-old dancing partner would stick up for her, which has sparked the rumor mill into motion. Are the two dating? That doesn't appear to be the case.

The DWTS pair definitely has a strong bond, but it may resemble a brother and sister's relationship before it does a boyfriend and girlfriend's.

"Some believe it's unlikely the two are romantically involved, since there is quite a large age gap between them," a source said. Mota is just 18 years old. "Reports say that their relationship is that of an older brother-younger sister type, and their interactions are similar to how Mark Ballas treats his teenager partner Sadie Robertson."

Whether they are dating or not, Mota and Hough have a fiery chemistry on the dance floor. Last week they received a perfect score of 40/40 with their Singing In The Rain-inspired dance routine.
