Joan Rivers Death Lawsuit: Comedian's E.N.T. 'Categorically Denies' Selfie Picture, Unauthorized Procedure [VIDEO]

Joan Rivers' personal E.N.T. is denying her part in the comedian's untimely death.

Dr. Gwen Korovin contradicts sources close to the Rivers death investigation, saying she did not take part in an unauthorized procedure at the Yorkville Endoscopy Center. She also denies taking a procedure room selfie with a sedated Rivers in view.

"Gwen S. Korovin, M.D. is a highly experienced, board certified otolaryngologist. She maintains privileges at one of the city's most prestigious hospitals. She is respected and admired by her peers in the medical community and she is revered by her patients," Dr. Korovins' lawyer said in a Sept. 19 statement obtained by CNN.

"As a matter of personal and professional policy, Dr. Korovin does not publicly discuss her patients or their care and treatment. Further, Dr. Korovin is prohibited by state and federal confidentiality laws from discussing her care and treatment of any particular patient," the statement continued. "For these reasons, neither Dr. Korovin nor her attorneys will have any public comment on recent press reports regarding her practice. We ask that the press please respect Dr. Korovin's personal and professional policy of not discussing her patients, as well as the privacy of her patients."

A source close to Dr. Korovin told the news publication that the doctor "categorically denies" taking the selfie and "performing an unauthorized procedure."

However, multiple clinic workers told investigators they heard Dr. Korovin make a comment, hinting Rivers "will think this is funny," in regard to the disputed selfie picture.

CNN reported investigators did not have access to Dr. Korovin's phone.

There is a heavy fog of mystery surrounding Rivers' death. Despite Dr. Korovin's denial of the allegations set against her, investigators suggest she did perform an unauthorized procedure at Yorville Endoscopy, while only authorized to observe Dr. Lawrence Cohen, who was Rivers' gastroenterologist.
