The Modern Family star broke up with her longtime boyfriend, Matt Prokop, in late August, and according to a new report, he isn't taking it too well.

"Matt has become obsessed with Sarah. He calls and texts her constantly and has even said some strange things about her and her dog," a source told Star on Sept. 18. "She's terrified and wants him to stop."

Because of Prokop's antics, Star Magazine claimed Hyland was considering a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, whom she dated for five years.

Everyone can sympathize with teenage heartbreak, but there is a fine line between feeling upset and taking those feelings to a frightening level and, judging by the report, it looks like Prokop is trekking into dangerous territory.

On Aug. 17, he tweeted, "Here comes the sun again... Means another day without you my friend."

Hyland made style news after attending the Emmy's earlier this summer. Not only did the Modern Family cast take home their fifth consecutive Best Comedy Series award, but she also looked stunning in a floor-length coral Christian Siriano skirt and white crop top.

The 23-year-old actress always has a way of taking a trend and wearing it to fit her age with a tinge of sophistication. Her Emmy's topknot bun definitely gave her chic outfit that hint of elegance it needed.
