Joan Rivers' ear, nose and throat doctor has been identified and believed to be on the run.
Joan Rivers' E.N.T. Reportedly Took Selfie While Comedienne Was Under Anesthsia
Dr. Gwen Korovin, the ENT specialist who performed Rivers' fatal and unauthorized throat biopsy, is nowhere to be found. This news follows word of her procedure room selfie, a clear violation of privacy.
"Everyone close to Joan thinks Dr. Korovin skipped town. Joan's daughter Melissa has been telling friends that she is a spineless monster," an insider told Radar Online on Sept. 17.
Joan Rivers Will Posthumously Appear On This Season's 'Celebrity Apprentice'
According to the report, Melissa made multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach Dr. Korovin's Manhattan office.
The ENT has never been shy about revealing her celebrity clientele, which includes the likes of John Mayer, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga, among others. However, now that she is under fire for misconduct, it seems Dr. Korovin is hiding from the spotlight.
Melissa plans on filing complaints against all doctors involved in the endoscopy and the unauthorized biopsy on her mother. Radar claimed she had been saying she wants their licenses revoked.
"Melissa is taking this very seriously. She has been shocked by the reports of her mother's ear, nose and throat doctor, who took a selfie picture with Joan when she was on the table," a source explained. "It only proves to Melissa that she needs to make sure this doesn't happen to another person. Filing the medical board complaint against Dr. Lawrence Cohen and Dr. Korovin will give Melissa the power to make sure she gets answers. Her mother trusted these doctors to take care of her, and it appears that there was a huge failure of epic proportions on multiple levels."
The source also revealed that Melissa was "numb" from her mother's death, and hasn't "had the time to process the fact... because of all the questions and controversy surrounding" it.
