Robin Thicke recently publicized his battle with drug and alcohol addiction, possibly to avoid a lawsuit regarding his hit "Blurred Lines."

The 37-year-old singer revealed in an April deposition, which went public yesterday, that he "didn't do a sober interview" while promoting the single with Pharrell Williams last year.
"Every day I woke up, I would take a Vicodin to start the day and then I would fill up a water bottle with vodka and drink it before and during my interviews," he said, according to a Sept. 15 report by PEOPLE Magazine.

This news comes to light amid a legal battle with the late Marvin Gaye's family, who is accusing the duo of ripping off the singer's hit single "Got To Give It Up." Thicke and Williams are being sued for royalties.
However, according to Thicke's testimony, he had "nothing to do" with writing the song, despite taking credit for it last summer. In the file, Thicke claimed Williams did most of the work.
"I was high and drunk every time I did an interview last year," he said, according to the file obtained by PEOPLE. "So there are some quotes I don't remember saying, but I do generally remembering trying to sell the public on the fact that 'Blurred Lines' was my idea in some way."
Thicke said he had been sober from Vicodin for two months, but hadn't quit drinking.
The file also touched on Thicke's public divorce from wife Paula Patton.
The two split after reports surfaced, claiming Thicke had been unfaithful. That, added with his racy MTV Video Music Award performance with Miley Cyrus, amounted to a marital disaster.
When the prosecutor asked Thicke if he considered himself to be an "honest person," the R&B crooner replied, "No. That's why I'm separated. I told my wife the truth. That's why she left me."
