A source claims Teresa Giudice will likely get house arrest when she appears in court next month.
Teresa Giudice Doesn't Think She'll Be Sentenced To Jail
On Oct. 2, Teresa and her husband, Joe, will be seen by a judge, who will sentence them as he sees fit for their prior fraud crimes. Before their big day, a source spoke out, alleging it is unlikely Teresa will do time behind bars.
"She will probably get house arrest," a source revealed to Us Weekly on Sept. 12.
Teresa Giudice's Sentencing Postponed
Teresa and Joe were charged with over 40 counts of fraud in 2013, and in March 2014, they pled guilty to several of them. Throughout their legal troubles, the Giudices have continued to film the sixth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, exposing what they are going through and how it has impacted the lives of their children.
During the most recent episode of the show, which aired last Sunday night on Bravo, Teresa was seen talking to her daughter, Gia, 13, who let her mom know she was privy two what was happening and "old enough to understand."
As for Joe, he faces 47 months behind bars -- and a possible deportation. Because Joe in not a U.S. citizen, the judge could order him to return to his native Italy as part of his sentencing. If that were to happen, Joe would be forced to serve out his sentence here before heading back to Italy.
"We're hoping Teresa does not go to jail," Joe's attorney Miles Feinstein previously told Us Weekly. "The great likelihood is that Joe will get some jail time...It's just a matter of how long."
