Prince Harry is getting a big birthday gift this year.

On his 30th birthday, Sept. 15, Princess Diana's legendary wedding dress will be passed down to Prince Harry, who will share the special gift with his older brother, Prince William.

The ivory silk and taffeta lace gown has been in the care of Princess Diana's brother, but will soon be inherited by her two children, TODAY reported on Sept. 3.

This is perhaps one of the most celebrated wedding gowns in history, designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel. The Victorian styled dress is hand-embroidered with over 10,000 tiny mother-of-pearl sequins and pearls, and has the longest train in royal history at 25 feet, according to the National Constitution Center.

Princess Diana wore the dress in 1981 when she exchanged vows with Prince Charles, the father of her two sons. The ceremony was held at St. Paul's Cathedral in London, and was broadcasted on live television, just like Prince William and Kate Middleton's nuptials.

The dress recently traveled around the world, where it was placed on display for many, but typically, it was kept at the family's Northampton estate.

Prince William and Harry can expect more inheritances passed down in the coming month. Huffington Post reported on Sept. 3 that the late princess' will also states they will receive a score of personal photos, letters and jewels, as well as the lyrics and written composition to Elton John's adapted version of Candle in the Wind, which he performed at her funeral.

Princess Diana was killed in a car crash in 1997, but her legacy lives on.
