Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy are getting married this weekend.
The couple plans to exchange vows this Saturday, Aug. 30, in New York in an intimate ceremony with close friends and family.
A source confirmed the news to Hollywood Life on Aug. 28, who reported that Wahlberg, 44, and McCarthy, 41, plan to wed this weekend, and their close friends, and the entire Wahlberg clan, are flying to New York for the "flashy" ceremony.
McCarthy broke the news of their engagement on The View, which she co-hosted, on April 16. At the time, McCarthy told the audience in a shriek, "I just got engaged... it's a yellow sapphire," before being joined on stage with her husband-to-be.
How did it happen? McCarthy revealed just that during the episode.
According to McCarthy, Wahlberg had her kid plotting the proposal the entire time. McCarthy's son held up cards, each one with the words "Will," "You" and "Marry." Then, Wahlberg walked out with a shirt that said "Me?"
Understandably, McCarthy broke down, cried, and eventually said "yes!"
"He understands my work schedule and he has his and I get it," she said, later in the episode. "And we're both single parents, and he's trying to juggle all of that while I am too."
This is both McCarthy's and Wahlberg's second marriage.
No matter how fast this engagement flew, it is clear the couple is in love.
After Wahlberg's reality show The Wahlburgers lost the a Creative Arts Emmy last Saturday to The Deadliest Catch, he took to Twitter on Aug. 16 saying, "Sometimes when you lose you really win #LifeIsGreat!" Along with his message was a cute picture of him and McCarthy in a loving embrace.
Congrats, you two!
