Nine months and six children later, Mr. and Mrs. Smith finally tied the knot!
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt got married on Saturday, Aug. 23 in a private ceremony in France.
The Associated Press broke the news on Aug. 28 via Twitter. "BREAKING: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were married Saturday in France, says a spokesperson for the couple," the post said.
The ceremony was small, just friends and family, at France's beautiful Chateau Miraval. Before the couple said their "I do's," they obtained a marriage license from a local California judge, who also conducted their ceremony overseas.
All six children were in the wedding. The two eldest, Maddox, 13, and Pax, 11, walked down the aisle with their mother. Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, threw flower petals, and Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, served as ring bearers.
Bragelina got engaged in April 2012, seven years after playing a married couple in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Just when fans thought this would be the never-ending engagement, Jolie, 39, spoke to PEOPLE Magazine about her wedding plans.
"We're just waiting for it to be the right time with the kids, with work, when it feels right," she said in a May 2014 interview.
"We talk about it occasionally, and the kids talk about it with us, which is verging on hysterical, how kids envision a wedding," Jolie said. "They will in a way be the wedding planners. It's going to be Disney or paintball - one or the other! We've got a lot of different personalities in the house. They've got some strong opinions."
Pitt, 50, told the Associated Press in November 2012 that the wedding, "actually means more to me than I thought it would. It means a lot to our kids."
This is the second marriage for Pitt, who divorced from Jennifer Aniston in 2005, and the third for Jolie. The starlet was married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller for three years in the late '90s and Billy Bob Thornton for three years in the early 2000's.
Both are currently prepping for movies. Jolie is focusing on directing her second film, a World War II odyssey called Unbroken, which will premiere in December. Pitt will star in a different World War II film, Fury, which hits theaters on Oct. 17.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Pitt!
