Ronnie And Sammi Breakup 2014: 'Jersey Shore' Couple Calls It Quits

Ronnie Magro and Sammi Giancola have split after several years of on-again, off-again dating.

On the red carpet on Wednesday night, Magro revealed he and his former Jersey Shore co-star, Giancola, parted ways two months ago after dating and living together for years.

"We were drifting apart and not really spending any time together," Magro told PEOPLE Magazine at the premiere of Jenni "JWoww" Farley's new film, Jersey Shore Massacre, on Aug. 20. "I still care about her. She's a great girl, but we were growing distant. It was for the best."

Magro and Giancola met in 2009 after being cast alongside one another on Jersey Shore. In the years that followed, the pair dated, broke up and made up time and time again, which created quite the compelling story line for viewers.

After the show wrapped in 2012, Magro and Giancola continued their relationship and began living together in New York. While the relationship was still plagued with issues, despite being away from the drama of the show, the pair lasted until spring 2014 before calling it quits, reportedly for good.

"I love her as a person and I care about her, but we went our separate ways. That's it," the MTV star told Us Weekly. "At the end of the day, we went through a lot of stuff together. We have a lot of history, so I keep her close."

Although Magro made it seem that their breakup was mutual and civil, the fact that both parties have completely erased any trace of the other on social media appears to hint at otherwise.
