Christina Aguilera Gives Birth: Baby Daughter's Name is Summer Rain

Some celebrities come up with the zaniest names for their children, but Christina Aguilera's newborn daughter's name is fittingly sweet.

Aguilera and fiance Matt Rutler welcomed Summer Rain on Sat., Aug. 16. The Grammy winner, 33, confirmed the baby's name nearly 24 hours later, via Twitter.

"So proud to welcome our beautiful daughter Summer Rain Rutler into the world," she tweeted.

Us Magazine reported early on Aug. 17 that the X-Factor mentor gave birth the previous day via C-section at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Aguilera and Rutler, who met on set of the 2010 film Burlesque, confirmed they were having a girl in March. The couple is not yet married, but became engaged this past Valentine's Day.

V Magazine released nude photos on Aug. 1 of Aguilera showing off her baby bump. The star has never been ashamed or embarrassed of showing off her body, pregnant or not.

"As a woman, I'm proud to embrace my body through all stages of life, staying fearless and confident in surrendering to the unknowns the future has in store," she said in the photo's accompanying interview.

The singer shared the photo shoot via Instagram for fans to ogle at the expecting mother's glow. She captioned the images, "[Thank you for] giving me the freedom to bare my soul & body at this incredible, magical, transition time in my life. #Grateful," on Aug. 1.

This is Aguilera's second child and the first child for Rutler. Aguilera's first child, 6-year-old son Max, is with her ex-husband, Jordan Bratman.
