It's official! Teen Mom is returning for a fifth season.
After several months of speculation, it has been confirmed that Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood and Catelynn Lowell will be returning to MTV for a new season of Teen Mom in 2015. Farrah Abraham has been left out of the show.
"A lot has changed for the trio (who started out on 16 and Pregnant) since their last season of Teen Mom in 2012," Us Weekly reported on Aug. 13. "As seen in MTV's recent specials about them -- Being Maci, Being Catelynn, and Being Amber -- all three stars are at very different places in their lives than they were two years ago."
Following the show's fourth season, Portwood was sentenced to five years behind bars after failing to complete a drug rehabilitation program. In Nov. 2013, she was released, and ever since, she has been in a much better place. Not only is she sober, she's also completely dedicated to her 5-year-old daughter, Leah, and will soon release her first book, Never Too Late (due out Aug. 26).
Bookout's life has changed, as well. For the last year and a half, she's been in a committed relationship with Taylor McKinney, and the pair recently moved in together.
"My family and I are in such a new and interesting place in our lives," Bookout told the magazine. "I feel like I have grown up so much since the last time that I filmed anything for TV, so it will be very interesting to show viewers how our lives have evolved."
Viewers will also be excited to catch up with Lowell and her fiance, Tyler Baltierra, who are planning for their second child (Lowell announced her pregnancy last week) and their upcoming wedding.
A Teen Mom catch-up special featuring the three girls will also air this fall.
