LeAnn Rimes Eddie Cibrian Affair: Couple Told Kids About Their Cheating Scandal

Eddie Cibrian and Brandi Glanville's children are in the know when it comes to his affair with LeAnn Rimes.

During a new interview, Cibrian and Rimes, whose reality show recently premiered on VH1, revealed that Cibrian and Glanville's sons, Mason, 11, and Jake, 7, are well aware of how they met.

“We’ve had discussions with them about the whole situation,” Cibrian revealed to Life & Style on July 23. “They understand more than you think they do,” Rimes added.

In early 2009, Cibrian and Rimes met on the set of their Lifetime movie, Northern Lights. Months later, after photos of Cibrian and Rimes kissing at a local restaurant hit the web, Cibrian and Glanville announced they had separated. One month after that, Cibrian filed for divorce, as did Rimes, who was married to Dean Shermet at the time.

Just over two years after their meeting, on April 22, 2011, Cibrian and Rimes were married and ever since, Rimes has been serving as Mason and Jake's step-mother.

While the situation in which Cibrian and Rimes met was far from ideal, the couple has done their best to ensure that the children were well taken care of and not getting caught in the middle of their drama with Glanville. In doing so, Cibrian and Rimes chose to tell them, very carefully, about the affair.

When addressing the issue, Cibrian says he went to counseling “to figure out how to put the kids first, to make sure they’re stable.”

“We are always bettering ourselves and our marriage,” Rimes explained.
