Lucy Lawless Is the New Agents of SHIELD Cast Member: Xena Joins the Team This Fall For Season 2

It's virtually impossible to not recreate the "Xena War Cry" or attempt to hum the theme song of the 90s cult classic at the mention of Lucy Lawless, who starred in Xena: Warrior Princess. But since it was announced that Lawless will appear in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., fans are marveling at the possibilities!

 TV Guide learned about her addition to the cast, explaining that it's "true Marvel fashion" to keep the details of her character a secret.

So what's she going to do on the show? Fans have been guessing and hoping it will be as epic as her Xena days.

"I was black and blue for about two years, but it's paid off tremendously. You know, if you get enough whacks, your reflexes pick up, and I've become quite good--if somebody throws keys or something, I can catch them," Lawless told The Guardian about her Xena action days.

Expectations for Lawless's new character are high--as Entertainment Weekly wrote yesterday: "Based on her past as Xena, it's likely she could give Agent May a run for her money on the battlefield."

Lawless isn't the only tough chick in the cast. Agent May, played by Ming-Na Wen (the voice of Disney's Mulan), has skills all her own. Her character bio on ABC describes her as "an expert pilot and martial artist."

Will Lawless jump-kick over expectations? Season 2 of the ABC series comes back in September.
